Quartermaster Facility Eselsfürth (US)

Hallo zusammen,

heut war ich in Kaiserslautern Eselsfürth auf einem ehemaligen Gelände der US Streitkräfte, mich würd mal interessieren was es genau war und ob es Infos zu der Anlage gibt.

Hier mal die Koordinaten: N 49° 27.406 E 007° 48.944

Hatte heute leider meine Kamera nicht dabei, sonst würd ich noch n paar Fotos dazu posten, aber evtl. fahr ich demnächst bei besserem Wetter mal wieder hin und mach dann auch n paar Bildchen

hierbei handelt es sich um die ehmalige Quartermaster Facility Eselsfürth der US Army.

Auf dem Gelände wurden alle möglichen Dinge gelagert, Kleidung, Gebrauchsgegenstände etc... allerdings keine Waffen oder Munition.

Ja, Firefighter hat recht. Hier waren Warehouses für Bekleidung und Verbrauchsmaterialien. Auch die Wäscherei für Die Truppen war da drinne. (Wird heute interessanterweise von der LHD übernommen!) Habe dort bis etwa 97/98 material hingekarrt, dann war dicht. Die Klamotten werden Jetzt im Ehelaligen KAD (Kaiserslautern Ary Depot) in dem langen grünen Gebäude (Google Earth 49°26´56,42" N, 7°49´50,46" W) gelagert. Bin seit nach meiner BW Dienstzeit ab dem 04.03.91 bei der 6966 Civillian Support Group Trans beschäftigt (Heute 6966 Trans Truck Terminal)

Hello Lyonercacher, at the Quartermaster Facility as you enter the building directly in front of you. As you enter the gate, the building on the right is the installation office building. The next building to the right of the office building was used as the laundry and bath building. If you walk to the end of the motor pool, across the railroad tracks and just to the right there is a small building that sits back under the trees. That was the office for the maintenance and dispatched vehicles, kept maintenance records and the office of the maintenance sergeant and motor officer. Up the hill, you will find the power generation station for the facility. The tall buildings have various equipment, clothing, office equipment, etc. We did not handle any ammunition. I was the maintenance officer at this facility from 1985-1987. Some day I hope to return to Germany and visit the facility. As an added note, please send me some pictures of the motor pool inside and outside if you get a chance to tour the inside of the building. It has a special place in my heart because that building would not have existed. Anything and everything about that building, the Installation Coordinator a German National, Mr Barth and I, we designed the inside of the building. When it was completed, it was the most modern organizational maintenance facility in United States Army Europe.
